Hungary is characterized by virtuous relations with Tirana and with the other countries of the western Balkan macro-region, both by virtue of its geographical proximity, and by historical and literary ties that never failed even in the difficult years of pro-Soviet totalitarianisms, and finally by the extraordinary potential in the areas of tourism cooperation and the continuity of supplies of agricultural and energy raw materials.
