One of the most interesting ongoing programs of Festival Academy is that of thematic and instrumental masterclasses. They serve as interactive processes to stimulate young talents and to help them learn directly from some of the greatest artists and performers, in multiple fields.
The concept of masterclasses is attributed to the brilliant Hungarian pianist and composer Franz Liszt. They are widely considered to be as one of the most effective ways to promote musical and artistic development. Based on this fact, Festival Academy continuously brings established artists, instrumentalists, composers, authors, and professors – both Albanian and from abroad. Interaction with these art personalities provides a unique educational experience for Albanian talents of all ages.
The Festival Academy has opened its doors to the new generation of music students, instrumentalists, and art critics and all those young people interested in art and culture – through the organization of the Piano Masterclasses at the “Jordan Misja” Artistic Lyceum in Tirana.
These fantastic masterclasses were directed by the award-winning Albanian pianist Almira Emiri. Based on her experience in Austria, Italy, Germany, Hungary, Israel and many other European scenes, Almira brought a very interesting and intensive seminar for young art students.
Almira Emiri completed her higher education studies at the “Franz Liszt” University in Budapest (Hungary) and the University of Arts in Graz (Austria). Amongst others, she has studied with Eugen Jakab, Annamária Bodoky-Krause and Milana Chernyavska, while also participating in Masterclasses by renowned professors such as Dimitrij Bashkirov, Imre Rohmann, Alexander Satz, Rudolf Kehrer and Vitaly Margulis. Almira has a rich and diverse repertoire of concert performances as recitalist pianist and in chamber music.
